Exxaro Bursary 2021

Exxaro Bursary 2021 is open in various categories therefore qualify applicants can apply now before the closing date.

Exxaro are inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2021 academic year, for studies within core mining industry disciplines. Students who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study, towards one of these qualifications may apply:

  • Civil Engineering (BEng)
  • Electrical Engineering (BEng)
  • Electronic Engineering (BEng)
  • Geology (BSc)
  • Industrial Engineering (BEng)
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng)
  • Mechatronic Engineering (BEng)
  • Metallurgical Engineering (BEng)
  • Mine Surveying (BTech)
  • Mining Engineering (BEng)

 

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, books, accommodation, meals, laptop or tablet and pocket money.

Apart from the financial support, bursary recipients will also receive the following benefits:

  • Campus visits during 1st and 2nd semester (from Talent Management and discipline mentors)

  • Invitation to attend the National Mining Indaba
  • Invitation to attend the annual PIT Symposium

 

On completion of their studies, bursary recipients will be able to join the Professional-in-Training (PIT) programme to gain further learning and prepare candidates for leadership roles in the organisation.

Exxaro will select candidates based on the companys Employment Equity policy – if you do not receive any feedback within 28 days after the closing date, please reagrd your application as unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EXXARO BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must be studying full-time towards one of the aforementioned qualifications
  • You must be studying at a recognised tertiary institute within South Africa
  • Civil Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Electrical Engineering students: must be in their 2nd year of study
  • Electronic Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Industrial Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Mechanical Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Mechatronic Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Metallurgical Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Mining Engineering students: must be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Geology students: must be in their 2nd academic year
  • Mine Surveying students: must be in their 2nd academic year

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE EXXARO BURSARY

Applications must be submitted online for the Exxaro Bursary Programme for 2021

Use this reference code when completing the application questionnaire: “Website Bursaries”.
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Full tertiary record/ transcripts (on institutes letterhead)
